Free wellness fair at Pier Park today

Free wellness fair at Pier Park today

The Wellness Center Clinics is collaborating with Therapy Works and Journeys Health Spa to host the “Love Yourself” Wellness Fair, which will provide a number of free services to residents on Friday, February 12.

Director and Founder of The Wellness Center Clinics, Dr Michael Turnbull said the event comes at a time in the territory where persons can utilise the services as a measure to treat themselves.

He said: “We thought it was important to host the ‘Love Yourself’ Wellness Fair around Valentine’s Day. Persons often treat themselves to flowers or gifts – essentially material things, which we do encourage but this year we wanted to inspire persons to love themselves holistically, mind body and soul.”

“So the Wellness Center Clinics brought a great group of professionals together to let the community be able to get a firsthand experience of the services offered,” he added.

Some of the services to be offered

Dr Turnbull also outlined some of the services expected to be offered at the event which will be held at the Cyril B Romney Tortola Pier Park.

“We will be doing blood pressure, sugar levels, body mass index and fat analysis on-site. The great folks at Therapy Works will be doing onsite consultations for physical therapy for various ailments and Journey Spa, will be offering samples of the various massages offered,” he told BVI News.

He further said: “Parents and family can pose questions to psychologists and psychiatrists confidentially [and] we will try to answer about stress management, etcetera”.

At least 10 professionals will be at the pier park to facilitate the delivery of the provided services.

“We plan to have two psychologists, two psychiatrists, one counsellor, one general practitioner, two physical therapists, a massage therapist, and support staff,” Dr Turnbull added.

In addition to services to be offered, participants will have the chance to win a number of giveaways sponsored by House of Luxury, Body Glam, Body-U-Fit, AGirl Luxury Roses and FHITT Factory.

The event runs from 1 pm to 5 pm.
