French Man Arrested For Stealing 7,000 Wine Bottles Over 15 Years
A 56-year-old man has been charged with the theft of 7,000 bottles of wine, valued at approximately €500,000 ($550,000), from various employers in Burgundy, France.
He was caught on camera stealing wine from his current employer, leading to a police investigation. A raid on his and his mother's home revealed the large cache of wines collected over 15 years, including some worth over €1,000 each from the Vosne-Romanee region.
The man, who has not sold any of the wine, was released on bail and awaits trial this summer.
