Frozen funds! VG woman allegedly hides stolen $$ in freezer
A woman from Virgin Gorda has been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing money from a woman’s purse left in a washroom at St Thomas Bay, Virgin Gorda.
According to reports reaching our newsroom, Nathalie Creque was placed on station bail after the money reported stolen was located in a freezer at her place of work.
The incident allegedly took place on Monday, November 2, 2020.
Our newsroom was informed that a woman had used a female washroom at St Thomas Bay jetty where she forgot her bag containing a purse with $920.00 in a white envelope.
She said when she returned for her bag she noticed the money was gone but observed the suspect leaving the washroom area.
The matter was reported to police who reportedly questioned the suspect and conducted a search.
The money fitting the description in the white envelope was allegedly found in the base of a white deep freezer at her workplace which is a bar at the ferry dock.
Ms Creque was subsequently placed under arrest on Suspicion of Theft. She was then granted $5000 bail with one signed surety.
