Gary Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, has been ordered by a High Court judge to pay £508,800 in damages to a woman he sexually abused when she was 12 years old.
The ruling comes after Glitter was convicted in 2015 of abusing the claimant and two others between 1975 and 1980.
He was sentenced to 16 years in prison and released in February last year, only to be returned to prison six weeks later for breaching his licence conditions.
The High Court's decision included £381,000 for lost earnings and £7,800 for future therapy costs.
Mrs Justice Tipples emphasized the severe and lifelong impact of Gadd's abuse on the victim, citing her inability to work, psychological trauma, and persistent mental health issues.
Glitter did not respond to the compensation claim, leading to a default judgment.
