Give From Your Heart & Be Charitable To Others

Hon. Marlon Penn, Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and Representative for the Eighth District, says that even though many families may be apart this Christmas, remember the love of family will always remain in our hearts.
Hon. Marlon Penn’s Christmas Message

Hello Virgin Islands, I am Marlon Penn, Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and Representative for the Eighth District. I take this opportunity to wish all visitors and residents of the Virgin Islands and their families, especially those in the Eight District a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2021.

2020 has been quite the year -- we have worked from home, became teachers, stay at home parents and most importantly, we stayed safe and enjoyed quality time!

This holiday season may be especially challenging with all that is going on this year, especially not being able to celebrate in the comfort of gatherings with friends and family, and worship services that are part of our traditions. Even though we may be apart this Christmas, remember the love of family will always remain in our heart.

The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving. So give from your heart and be charitable to others.

Do a little extra for someone - lend a helping hand to those in need and make a positive difference in someone’s life. To a child - be a good example, and to your friends and family; and in true Virgin Islands spirit - share your blessings.

Take time to reflect and be thankful for all that we have - so let us give thanks! Thanks to our Almighty God for continually bestowing his mercies on these beautiful islands and in giving thanks let us remember and honour those who are no longer with us, and cherish those who are.

I pray that in the New Year you are able to overcome any challenges, obstacles, failures and tragedies with renewed strength and health.

To all visitors and residents, especially those residing in District Eight, I pray God’s love surround your families and this beloved Territory, and may every cup overflow with rich blessings this Christmas and always.
