Gov’t completes road repair & resurfacing works in several areas

Road works have been completed in several areas across the [British] Virgin Islands (VI) as part of the Andrew A.Fahie Government's commitment to improving the territory’s roads.

Virgin Islands Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) celebrated the achievement with a statement on social media regarding the works.

“After all the traffic interruptions and inconveniences from working to repair our deplorable roads on Tortola, we have now completed Great Mountain Road, Little Dix Hill Road, Hope to Sabbath Hill Road and Ballast Bay Road.”

Road a priority - Premier Fahie


According to the Premier, “Road improvement has been a priority for this Government and we will continue to deliver an improved road infrastructure.”

Since taking office, the Fahie Government has embarked on a Territory-wide infrastructural development programme that includes road, water, and sewerage networks, including the reinstatement of road surfaces in several areas which often resulted in traffic disruptions for long periods of time.

The works were carried out by the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities, along with the Virgin Islands (VI) Recovery and Development Agency (RDA).
