Gov’t likely to dissolve Miami-based BVIPA LLC

Gov’t likely to dissolve Miami-based BVIPA LLC

A Florida-based limited liability company (LLC) that raised eyebrows earlier this year following the arrest of former Premier Andrew Fahie is likely to be dissolved, current Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley has indicated.
A limited liability company is a business structure in the US that protects its owners from personal responsibility for its debts or liabilities.

Communication and Works Minister Kye Rymer previously explained that the Miami-registered LLC was set up on behalf of the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) as a means of conducting business in the US district, noting at the time that it was simply an ‘outreach location’.

But while relating to the press that Rymer was the appropriate government member to address the matter, Dr Wheatley said Rymer was actively engaged on the matter of the BVIPA’s LLC and said he did not believe that the LLC is currently doing business.
