Governor requests observers for 2023 General Elections in VI

Sources within Government House have informed our news centre that His Excellency John J. Rankin, CMG has requested the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) to observe the April 24, 2023 General Elections in the Virgin Islands (VI).

It is our news centre's understanding there will be a 7-member delegation from the United Kingdom (UK) branch of the CPA to observe the elections.

The CPA delegation is scheduled to hold a press conference on April 18, 2023, a day after arriving in the territory.

Governor Rankin reportedly consulted with the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition, regarding the election observers being invited.
