Hasani Frett charged in relation to Sunday’s fatal shooting

Police have charged an individual in relation to the fatal shooting in the vicinity of UP’s Cineplex early Sunday morning, February 12, 2023.
Hasani Frett, 37, of Greenland was charged for murder, inflicting grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Police have also confirmed VINO’s first and accurate story of February 12, 2023, that the individual shot dead is yet to be identified.

Police in a press release today, February 14, 2023, said a female also received gunshot wounds at a separate location early Sunday morning.

The RVIPF said the female is being treated for a wound to the leg at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

Detectives are asking persons who may know the identity of the male victim to come forward.

Sunday morning’s shooting death follows less than a week after the murder of Yan Edwards, 42 of Long Look who was pronounced dead at the scene of an establishment in Parham Town, East End. No one else was injured in this incident.
