Heavy rains flood roadways

Heavy rains flood roadways

Heavy showers are being dumped across the British Virgin Islands today, Wednesday, October 26, and has begun to show signs of flooding in sections of the territory.
Some thoroughfares such as Threllfall road — more commonly known as ‘the Elevantor’ — have been overrun with water, which is posing a problem for motorists.

Up to publication time, BVI News did not receive any reports to indicate any severe impact on residents and motorists.

As for the seas in and around the BVI, a small craft advisory is now in effect.

The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) indicated in a weather bulletin on Wednesday that “lingering moisture and instability” are behind the shower activity.

The weather tonight is forecast to be cloudy to overcast with a moderate chance of showers.

There is also 60 percent or moderate chance of rain on Thursday.
