Hickinbottom To Visit Sister Islands As Part Of Corruption Probe
The Commission of Inquiry into Government corruption is to visit the sister islands of Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke tomorrow, February 1.
"The Commissioner, Sir Gary Hickinbottom, will visit the sister islands on Monday 1 February and be available to meet with residents of the islands who would like to speak with him. He will be happy to explain how the independent Commission of Inquiry will work, its purpose, and how people can get involved if they so wish," stated Steven Chandler, Secretary to the Commission.
The meetings can be 1-to-1 and held in private. The Commissioner will first visit Anegada between 8.30 am and 9.45 am at the Anegada District Office. Then it is on to Virgin Gorda at the Hazel Point Building (2nd Floor) between 11.00 am and 12.15 pm. The final stop will be on Jost Van Dyke between 2.00 pm and 3.15 pm at the Albert Chinnery Building, District Office.

The independent commission of Inquiry was appointed by former Governor Augustus Jaspert on January 18 to look into whether corruption, abuse of office, or other serious dishonesty may have taken place amongst public, elected, and statutory officials in recent years.
The Hickinbottom was sworn in as the sole Commissioner on January 22.

The site not only has information about the Inquiry but has a portal by which anyone can raise queries and submit information that falls within the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference and which they consider may be helpful.
