The presence of a stationary frontal trough across the Virgin Islands will continue to maintain a very high chance of showers over and around the islands during the next 24 hours according to the latest forecast information from the Virgin Islands (VI) Department of Disaster Management (DDM).

The forecast for Saturday, February 5, 2022, reports a possible rainfall total of up to 25.4mm or 1 inch in some places during that time, given the Road Town Weather station recorded 1.26 inches of rain within the last 24hrs.

Occasional showers

As such, the forecast for today is Mostly cloudy skies with occasional showers mixed with periods of light rain. There's also a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a 80% or very high chance of showers.

Winds: east-northeast at 15 to 31 km/h or 9 to 20 mph with lighter spells overnight.

Seas: 1.8 to 2.8 meters or 6 to 9 feet consisting mainly of northerly swells.
