HLSCC hosts customised training for The Moorings

The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) Workforce Training Division, Centre for Professional Development (CPD) hosted two customised workshops in Basic Literacy and Basic Computer Literacy for nine Moorings employees.
The training’s first cohort underwent a comprehensive six-week Basic Literacy and a four-week Computer Literacy programme that was specifically designed for participants to effectively demonstrate their proficiency in real-world scenarios.

HLSCC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr Arlene L. Smith-Thompson congratulated the awardees and noted that the College valued the opportunity to partner with businesses in the community to provide meaningful training opportunities whereby they can benefit from and implement their knowledge in an everyday work environment.

Students enrolled in the training obtained an in-depth knowledge in grammatical structure, syntax in both written and spoken forms, basic writing skills, and foundational competencies in Microsoft Office software applications.

CPD Manager, Mrs Veronique Forbes-King noted that the training was assessed on course objectives and practical industry-related activities, examples, and scenarios that augmented the learning experience.

Dean of Workforce Training, Mrs Marva Wheatley-Dawson stated at the ceremony that each participant should be proud of themselves, having excelled in their training, solidifying their dedication and motivation to succeed.

HLSCC CPD offers effective customised training programmes tailored for your organisation. For more information, please contact Mrs Veronique Forbes-King, CPD Manager via telephone at (284) 852-7191 or 541-3058 or via e-mail at vfking@hlscc.edu.vg.
