HoA resumes 10:00am with discussion on 'Trade in Endangered Species' Act 2019
The Virgin Islands House of Assembly (HoA) resumes today, July 20, 2020, with discussions in Committee Stage on the “Trade In Endangered Species (Cites) Act, a bill first proposed in 2019.
The bill will provide for the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and will see legislators debate the way forward for the implementation of the bill in the Virgin Islands.
According to a Cabinet post-meeting statement, the bill was first approved by Cabinet on June 19, 2020.

The continuation of the Twelfth Sitting of the Second Session of the Fourth House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands will be held at Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duffs Bottom, Tortola today from 10:00 am.
The HoA meeting will be carried live on CBN Channel 51 and streamed on the House of Assembly’s Youtube page.
