Hollande Declares End to Macron’s Political Ascendancy

Despite Macron's re-election in 2022, the President lost his absolute majority in Parliament and faced a damaging loss in the June 9 European Parliament election, initiating plans for a snap election on June 30 and July 7.
Hollande's Socialist Party, part of the New Popular Front (NFP) alliance, is vying against the far-right National Rally (RN), which is currently leading in polls.
Hollande emphasized the political and public morale costs of Macron's rule and positioned himself as a responsible and vigilant candidate.
