Hon Fraser challenges MarineMax Vacations to ‘make Clarence Malone a partner’

As yacht charter company MarineMax Vacations celebrates 10 years of existence in the [British] Virgin Islands, it is being encouraged to consider making its long-standing senior-level manager and local- Clarence Malone- a partner in the company.

This challenge to the company was made by the territory’s most senior legislator Honourable Julian Fraser, RA (R3) while giving brief remarks at a ceremony to mark MarineMax Vacations’ 10-year anniversary of operating in the territory on January 27, 2022.

Mr Malone is the Director of Operations at MarineMax Vacations.

‘Empowerment’

“It’s a way of empowering our people. The best way to empower people is to bring them along, he has certainly come along and there would be more Clarence Malone if Clarence is treated in a way that others can emulate, or wish to emulate and proud of, I am certainly proud of him,” Hon Fraser said.

Hon Fraser also commended MarineMax Vacations for their service to the territory and for persisting in business here.

He said the first 10 years might have been difficult to do business but “from here on it supposed to be smooth sailing…So it is true that we have the greatest sailing waters in the world … and there is no questioning as to our hospitality here in the Virgin Islands. I am sure that you must have met Nanny Cay to be inviting and quite a place to do business.”

From 13 vessels to 50!

MarineMax Vacations, which utilises sections of the new docks at Nanny Cay, is celebrating its 10th anniversary under the theme, “Celebrating a decade of vacations, a lifetime of memories”.

MarineMax Vacations was formed in 2012 with an initial fleet of 13 sailboats in the [British] Virgin Islands. It now has over 50 power catamarans.

MarineMax Vacations was twice voted the number one charter company in the VI.
