The Opposition Leader via a release today, December 31, 2021, said the donations came as families used the holiday season to come together for celebrating, socialising, and reconnect.
Hon Penn added, “I know that this year has been an extremely difficult time for many families and my District Committee, and I felt the need to provide a little help to persons in our community by providing holiday ham, turkey, food boxes containing dry goods and cases of water.”
On Boxing Day, December 26, 2021, the Opposition Leader partnered with Ice Treats to deliver free ice cream and smiles to children in the 7th and 8th Districts.
“My District Committee and I will continue to do our part and implement initiatives to support our residents and aid in the progress of our communities,” he added.
Hon Penn also reminded persons in the community of the recently launched District Community Newsletter aimed at bringing awareness to some of the root problems across the district.
The Opposition Leader said the newsletter will be available at the District Office, located next to the Harbour View Restaurant in East End, as well as at various restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets in the district.
