House Speaker Hon Julian Willock hospitalised

Said to be doing well after taking ill at the weekend

Speaker of the House of Assembly (HoA), Honourable Julian Willock has been hospitalised, according to announcements made at today's, June 20, 2020, HoA sitting at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff's Bottom, Tortola.

Hon Willock is said to be in a good state after being admitted to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital in Tortola over the weekend, complaining of severe stomach pains.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), sending well wishes, said: "We have been made to understand that he is hospitalised and our prayers are with the Speaker because we know in these times of sickness we have to stay closer to God than ever, although we suppose to do that at all times."

Hon Fahie added, "So we know that he may be listening on his hospital bed and we pray that God’s healing power be with him.”

Deputy Speaker, Honourable Neville A. Smith (AL) first made the announcement that the Speaker was unwell, given his absence from today's Twelfth Sitting of the Second session of the Fourth HoA.

"At this time, I would like to apologise for the Speaker who is not well today and I was saddled with the duties, so I would try my best to do him well," Hon Smith told the House.
