One such company to see success is No Limits Construction owned by former Progressive United (PU) 2019 elections candidate, Mr Rajah A. Smith.
The company received a $172K contract after benefiting from training provided by the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA).
As part of the contract, No-Limit Construction will construct a car park facility and undertake auxiliary works at the Jeffrey A. Caines Sports Arena in Virgin Gorda to the tune of $172,716.08
During the signing ceremony on Thursday, December 16, 2021, Proprietor, Mr Smith said, “Standing here today closing out the year 2021, it’s been a journey for me. This journey has taken me about twenty years. We have been doing business in the last 20 years starting in 2001,” he said.
According to Smith, he was somebody who started from the bottom, “and here I am today. I started with a shovel and a wheelbarrow and a power wash.”
“For anybody out there, if you start something, be committed and be consistent and you will get there,” he added while calling on persons to believe in locals.
Smith also thanked Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) for believing in him throughout the years, “Our Premier is somebody that believed in me as well,” he said.
Smith pointed out that sometimes to move forward in life, you just need 'someone to believe in you'.
Other contracts signed at the ceremony included for the Supply & installation of a 15KWP(DC) solar facility (grid-tied, exporting) at the Enis Adams Primary School and the Francis Lettsome Primary School to the value of $66,500 each awarded to Amandla Engineering.
In addition, Your Eco Construction Ltd based in the United Kingdom will Design, build and deliver two (2) solar PV systems (off-grid power boxes) to a value of $95,900; and Architectural and engineering design services at the Road Town Police Station under the Phase II rehabilitation works to the value of $45,001.93 was awarded to OBM International.
