‘I want to be first in line’ for COVID-19 vaccine

‘I want to be first in line’ for COVID-19 vaccine

Local Clergyman and host of the 'Honestly Speaking' radio programme, Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline says he wants to be one of the first persons in the Virgin Islands (VI) to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available in the territory.

Mr Skelton-Cline's commitment came just weeks after he urged residents to stop being fearful of the jab, assuring citizens that talks about 'mark of the beast' is nonsense.

First in line for vaccine – Skelton-Cline

“I want to tell you, I want to be one of the first in line to take this vaccination,” he said on the Tuesday, December 8, 2020, edition of his Honestly Speaking Show on ZBVI 780am.

“The UK started… their vaccination program and so that's a good sign, I am trusting that our government, of course, is putting a plan in place to vaccinate this country once these vaccinations are made available,” he said.

According to the man of the cloth, so far, he has done research on the various versions of the vaccines include ones made by pharmaceutical companies like Maderna and Pfizer and the possible side effects.

“I am unafraid… I've taken every other kind of vaccine, I'm going to take this one too so that we can be safe, so that my family and my friends, my church members and all that I come in contact with can be safe,” he said.

On Monday, December 7, 2020, Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL) said the VI has since secured two sources for COVID-19 vaccines to be administered to the populace.
