Inmate allegedly stabbed @HMP
Word just reaching our news centre is that an inmate of Her Majesty's Prison in Balsam Ghut, on the main island of Tortola, has been stabbed.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime before 3:00pm today, December 3, 2020, according to sources.
Unconfirmed reports are that the prisoner was stabbed in the neck and back.
He has reportedly since been taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
The prison was reportedly placed on lockdown following the incident.
Reports are the victim is at HMP for illegal entry while the perpetrator is said to be incarcerated for murder.
Efforts to reach prison authorities were unsuccessful.
