Inmate reportedly escapes HMP; Prison head tight-lipped
Information coming into Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that a prison inmate at the Her Majesty’s Prison in Balsam Ghut, Tortola, has reportedly escaped custody and is at large in this territory.
The prisoner reportedly escaped the facility sometime today, Saturday, October 30, 2021.
When contacted, Superintendent at the Prison, Mr. Guy-Michel Hill offered no comments on the alleged outbreak, but when pressed further said details are not clear at the moment.
Sources indicated to our newsroom that the escapee is a black male and law enforcement officers are actively engaged in a manhunt to apprehend the individual.
