The date for the upcoming general elections has been decided and will be on April 24, 2023.
Advance Polling will happen three days earlier on April 21.
Governor
John Rankin signed the proclamation detailing election day moments ago in accordance with Section 86 of
the Virgin Islands constitution.
Section 86 states: “A general election shall be held at such time within two months, but not earlier than 21 days, after every dissolution of the House of Assembly as the Governor shall appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette.”
The House of Assembly was dissolved last Friday, March 10, 2023.
