Joyous Winter Street Style from Copenhagen Fashion Week

Joyous Winter Street Style from Copenhagen Fashion Week

It goes without saying that Scandinavia is cold, but the buzzing fashion scene is proving that doesn't necessitate a boring look.

Last week seems to have been a lot more fun in Copenhagen than in America. And while it's true that the polar vortex was causing an unbearable cold on this side of the Atlantic, Scandinavia has by no means been warm and sunny. Instead, low temps are just the norm in Denmark's rising fashion city, so locals make do by putting a little more creative effort into layers and outerwear. Bright coats have a way of fending off the wind chill in optimistic style, it bags from brands like Balenciaga and Jacquemus up an outfit's personality year-round, and accessories can really make all the difference, whether through shades as reminders of sunnier times or barrettes adding a bit of glimmer to a look.

Christina Fragkou captured all of Copenhagen's best street style moments, and the energy is tangible from the way fashion week attendees were beaming as they posed and mingled. See the incredible looks below, and maybe get a little inspiration for sartorially surviving the rest of winter while you're at it.
