JvD ‘doing better’ under Fahie Gov’t – Caller tells Premier

While commending the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Government on the ‘great job’ they have been doing, one caller from the sister island of Jost van Dyke has declared that the island is doing a lot better under the Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1) administration, that it did under previous administrations.

The caller was at the time speaking on the Tuesday, February 16, 2021, first edition of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) 'Let's Talk' radio show on ZBVI 780 AM and live-streamed on Facebook.

“All my minister, you all doing a good job and thank God we have you guys at this time… we have all our fire station in place, we have our new Customs building in place, we have roads, water is going… we getting a little help with stipend here and there”

The caller further thanked Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) for his works to bring improved water distribution to the island, despite challenges and thanked the government for initiatives such as food distribution programmes during Christmas 2020.

Gov't commended for job in keeping VI safe

“Hon Carvin Malone you’re doing a great job keeping us save my brother. Because even when Hon Fahie was trying to open the country, you had to put your foot down and say no,” he said.

The Premier said that close to 20 public meetings were held to know the views and input of the people across the territory.

He said while COVID-19 took millions of dollars to ensure among other initiatives, that the VI has a certified testing lab, some funding challenges were created for other areas.

‘We continue to press on regardless’, the Premier said while encouraging more input from the community and noting that the VI did not reach the point of low COVID-19 cases by accident, rather through sacrifices.

The caller was at the time speaking the Premier and other Government members on the Tuesday, February 16, 2021, first edition of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) 'Let's Talk' radio show on ZBVI 780 AM and live-streamed on Facebook.

The caller further thanked Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) for his works to bring improved water distribution to the island.
