A performance featuring American rapper, Kanye West, and his Sunday Service group is set to unfold at Emancipation Park in St Andrew this Friday.
A source at the Entertainment Ministry confirmed that plans for the free concert are underway.
“The logistics are challenging to pull this concert together in a short period of time. But Jamaica wants to see it happen. It’s a great opportunity for the island, the entertainment industry and all involved,” a source told Loop News reporter Claude Mills.
Delano Seiveright, senior advisor and strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, also confirmed the development in a tweet.
A newly minted Christian, West reportedly will be accompanied by his gospel choir of more than 100 singers.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
It will be the first Sunday Service concert in the Caribbean, since West started the series in January.
