Princess Kate, 42, has been hospitalized since Tuesday and is currently on her fourth day of recovery following a successful abdominal surgery at the London Clinic.
Her husband,
Prince William, visited her privately and it's expected that she will continue her recuperation there for up to two weeks, with a return to royal duties postponed until post-Easter.
The hospitalization announcement coincides with concerns about King Charles's health, who is scheduled for treatment of an enlarged prostate.
As a result,
Prince William is temporarily withdrawing from official engagements to support Kate and their children at Adelaide Cottage, assisted by their nanny and Kate's family.
Tony Hudgell, a young fundraiser who regards Kate as his top supporter, is among the many sending well-wishes, advising her to avoid rushing her recovery.
Royal duties continue to be managed by other working members of the family, despite the temporary absence of these senior royals.
The King, maintaining good fitness habits, has had to reschedule some commitments but is anticipated to be brief in his medical leave. Meanwhile, the royal family navigates the reduced workforce and the challenges posed by the absence of the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of York from official roles.
