Lesmore Smith reminds public he is contesting 2023 General Election

With candidates being declared for the 2023 General Election, Businessman Lesmore Smith has seized the opportunity to remind the public he will also be in the fray, as an At Large candidate with Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM).

Mr Smith had told the public since November 2021 that he was contesting the 2023 election.

Yesterday February 5, 2023, as the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) was preparing to cast votes internally to confirm its list of candidates, Mr Smith of Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) took to social media to let the public know he has no change of heart on his 2021 announcement.

‘I’m an At Large candidate- Lesmore Smith

“Pleasant good morning to you and family. [I] Pray all is well with everyone. Just letting you know, I’m an At Large candidate in upcoming general elections and asking for you and your family support Thanks much, God blessed,” Mr Smith said.

Mr Lesmore Smith first ran as an Independent in 2011 when he contested the Fifth District seat and lost. He ran again in 2019 as an At-Large candidate with PVIM but was again unsuccessful.

Mr Smith will now be hoping the saying ‘third time’s a charm’ will ring true.
