Letters from both Labour and Health ministers needed for early re-entry

Persons seeking to re-enter the territory under the ‘special category of persons’ list are being reminded that all applications to the Immigration Department are to be submitted with the approval letters from the Minister of Labour and the Health Minister.
The reminder comes from the Acting Chief Immigration Officer Ian Penn who said his department has been receiving an increased amount of applications that are missing the mandatory letters from each minister.

“I would like to inform the persons seeking to enter the territory before September 1 that their applications will not be processed unless they get the required approval from both ministers,” he said in a recent government-commissioned media release.

He added: “Those persons that applied to the Immigration Department without the approval will be processed on September 1 when that prerequisite approval from the ministers is no longer needed.”

Cabinet recently approved the entry for a special category of persons to enter the territory from August 15.

These include dependents such as spouses and children of Belongers, Permanent Residents, work permit holders and work permit-exempt holders.
