Local firm awarded $550K Huntum’s Ghut Economic Zone contract
The government has awarded Accurate Construction the contract to develop the Huntum’s Ghut Economic Zone Commercial Buildings on Tortola.
The contract is valued at approximately $550,000.
Cabinet made the decision during its meeting on October 6. And according to the post-Cabinet statement released on Thursday, Accurate Construction won the contract based on a recommendation from the Central Tender Board’s technical committee.
The proposed work for Accurate Construction will include designing, fabricating, supplying transport, erecting, and assembling two-story structures as outlined in their architectural drawings.
The economic zone, as described by Works Minister Kye Rymer at a ground-breaking ceremony last October, is to bring development to the community by hosting commercial businesses that will bring goods and services closer to consumers.
This is the second known government contract for the Wesley Penn-owned Accurate Construction Services in a little more than a year.
In May of last year, the construction service had won a contract to build an additional lane in Road Town.
This was a part of the territory’s Traffic Enhancement and Improvement Programme. That contract was valued at approximately two hundred and three thousand dollars ($203,000).
