Londoners are lonelier than rest of country, survey finds

Survey reveals Londoners feel lonelier than the rest of the UK, with 35% of city residents feeling isolated compared to 28% nationwide, particularly among young women.
Conducted by the Belonging Forum, the study aimed to address loneliness, involving over 10,000 respondents, making it the UK's largest on the subject.

Central London areas like Vauxhall, Camberwell Green, and Bermondsey report the highest loneliness levels, contrasting with lower rates in outer areas such as Ruislip and Sutton.

Despite London's higher social interaction with neighbors, the city's younger population and factors like economic instability and social media impact are linked to the increased loneliness. The findings suggest urgent societal and community measures are needed to foster belonging and address this issue.
