Lorie A. Freeman to be appointed Deputy Director of SSB

The Chief Financial Officer of Social Security Board (SSB), Ms Lorie A. Freeman is set to be appointed Deputy Director of SSB.

This has been revealed in the Order Paper for the Seventh Sitting of the Third Session of the Fourth House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands scheduled for Save the Seed Energy Centre from 10:00 am today, April 15, 2021.

According to the Order Paper, the Board of SSB has appointed Ms Freeman as Deputy Director from December 31, 2020, to June 30, 2021, in the first instance with the option to extend the said appointment to December 31, 2021, if considered appropriate.

The Deputy Director post was left vacant when Jeanette Scatliffe-Boynes, right, was promoted to Acting Director in January 2021, following the exit of former longtime director Antoinette Skelton, left.

HoA seeks to approve appointment


The Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) will move a motion for the HoA to approve the appointment.

The Deputy Director post was left vacant when Ms Jeanette Scatliffe-Boynes was promoted to Acting Director in January 2021, following the exit of former longtime director Antoinette Skelton.
