$3K donated to BVIAA

The brief award ceremony concluded with the BVI Road Racing Committee, alongside Natasha Ruscheinski of Deloitte and Dan Mitchell of Ogier, presenting a check valued $3,000.00 to the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA).

The money was raised from hosting the 2022 BVI Half Marathon.

Event organiser Steve Augustine said he was happy with the turn out and has strong hopes of growing the event.

Augustine stated, “in the future, I’d like to add a fund-raising mechanism to the run whereby the proceeds could be donated to those most in need within the community [but] for now it will remain a free participative event.”

Augustine further stated that he’s quite happy promoting healthy lifestyles and will continue to build the event on this objective.

The WE2MR was first held in 2020 with a total of 63 participants.
