Manhunt underway! Nearly a dozen illegal immigrants captured in D9
Reports reaching our news centre are that police captured nine illegal immigrants in the Ninth District area of Anegada at the weekend.
Highly-placed sources told BVI News that police and Customs officers were called to Pelican Point in Anegada on Sunday where a speed boat was left abandoned on the beach.
BVI News understands that the officers searched the surrounding area where seven people were found hiding in nearby bushes and two other illegal immigrants were discovered some time later.
It is said there were various nationalities of illegal immigrants found. They include Haitians, Colombians, and Romanians.
Our news centre understands that the vessel was carrying approximately 20 people.
A manhunt is on for those still at large.
