Mentally ill woman caught on camera pulling hair of tourist
The issue of mentally ill persons roaming the streets of the [British] Virgin Islands has come to the forefront, following an incident on March 23, 2022, when a female tourist was assaulted by a mentally ill woman on Waterfront Drive.
In the incident caught on camera, the well-known mentally ill woman could be heard saying something to a male and a female as they walked past her.
Just as the individuals passed the mentally ill woman, she came from behind and yanked the hair of the female.
The upset male person accompanying the woman then walked up to the mentally ill woman yelling “What happened? What happened?” before walking away.
There have been instances in the past where mentally ill persons have physically assaulted persons in Road Town.
