Minor among 4 arrested for last night’s armed robbery on VG

A minor is among a group of men arrested in connection to an armed robbery on Virgin Gorda, Thursday night, October 15.
A total of four males were arrested.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said in a media release Friday morning that last night’s robbery happened at a supermarket on Lee Road in the Valley.

“Initial reports indicate that two masked males, both armed with firearms, approached two individuals outside the supermarket, snatched their handbags, ran to the back of the store and escaped in a vehicle,” the RVIPF said.

“Officers of the Virgin Gorda Police Station responded immediately and apprehended three suspects, including the driver of the vehicle near a North Sound Basketball Court,” they added.

Police said a fourth suspect had fled the scene but was later captured and arrested.

Charges are pending for the quartet.

In the meantime, the RVIPF said the stolen items were recovered in the reported getaway vehicle. Investigations are said to be ongoing in the matter.
