More than 100 pre-registered for CIL 5K Charity Walk/Run tomorrow

A massive turnout is expected for the 6th edition of the Caribbean Insurers Limited (CIL) 5K Charity Walk/Run, as more than 100 persons have pre-registered for the event slated to get underway at 5:30 AM tomorrow, Saturday, May 20, 2023.
According to Director of CIL, Simone T. Montsanto, registration will start at 5:00 AM and there will be a light warm-up session before the walk/run kicks off at 5:30 AM.

The route is from QE II Park to Purcell Roundabout and return.

Prizes will be given to the Overall Winner, Youngest Participant, Oldest Participant, Most Creative Group, Winning Team, Winning Family and Largest Participating Group.

Food vouchers will also be presented to 1st and 2nd place families.

Puerto Rico participation

“The most impressive part,” according to Montsanto, is that the event will see the participation of Auxilo Mutuo Hospital of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“They will be joining us in the race and they will also be doing free cholesterol and blood pressure testing, along with giveaways,” Montsanto told our news centre.

Additionally, Dr Harlan Vanterpool and H.O.V Medical of the Virgin Islands will also be doing similar testing.

Meanwhile, Caribbean Cellars Limited is sponsoring the water (Evian Water) for tomorrow’s walk/run.

A light healthy breakfast will be served after the race.

Registration is $5 for children and $15 for adults.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the VI Alzheimer’s Association.
