Motor scooter rider injured during lockdown rush hour

A male motor scooter rider was injured in an accident in Port Purcell, Tortola, during rush hour traffic, as persons sought to get home in time for the 1:00pm curfew today, Friday, September 4, 2020.

Details are sketchy at this time; however, reports indicate that the accident took place in the westbound lane of James Walter Francis Drive in the vicinity of One Mart around 12:00pm.

It is unclear the extent of the man's injury.

A photo sent to our newsroom shows the injured man lying on the side of the road and at least two persons standing close to him.

Traffic was extremely busy today, as persons sought to complete their shopping and other business ahead of the weekend.
