Mrs BVI Pageant put off till next year

There will be no Mrs BVI Pageant this year, and the reigning queen Shondrea Turnbull will remain in that position for an additional year. This is according to a post on the official Mrs BVI Pageant Facebook page.
The post said the next show is slated for February 2021.

“Our plans were to launch something new, something fresh. However we need you to hold on for it in 2021,” the post read.

The decision was made because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current inability to host large gatherings locally.

In the meantime, women who are interested in being part of next year’s pageant have up till July 31 this year to register.

The pageant was scheduled to take place on March 28 at the H Lavity Stoutt Community College. Three women — Rosita Scatliffe-Thompson, Stephanie Brewley and Felicia Tonge-Fenton — were gearing up to go head-to-head for the coveted crown.

The winner would have represented the territory in the Mrs Globe pageant.
