Murder victim identified as Jaquan Thomas

The man who the police found unresponsive in Apple Bay following a shooting incident in the area Sunday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Jaquan Thomas.
The police said in a late-night media release yesterday that his death is being treated as a murder.

They are now seeking the public’s assistance to find the person or persons responsible.

“Persons with information or witnesses to the murder are asked to contact the Unit directly at 368-5682 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339,” the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said in its statement.

“No one else reported injuries in the incident. Traffic through the Little Apple Bay area which is now open was temporarily diverted so the crime scene could be preserved. Detectives with the Major Crime Team are leading investigations into this murder,” the RVIPF added.

Thomas’ death is officially the first murder in the territory since the start of the year.
