NAGICO & Rotary Club of Tortola donate wheelchairs to BVIPA

NAGICO Insurances has joined forces with Rotary Club of Central Tortola to donate much-needed wheelchairs to the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA).

Ms Oleanvine Maynard, Acting Managing Director of the BVIPA stated, “As an organisation, we at the BVI Ports Authority would like to express our deepest gratitude for your donation of wheelchairs. It has allowed us to ensure that persons who are impacted by a physical challenge have easier access whilst traversing our ferry port facilities.”

According to a press release from Nagico Insurances today, May 5, 2021, the four wheelchairs were handed over to the BVIPA on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park.

The four wheelchairs were handed over to the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park.

Nagico committed to service

Ann Stacey Roberts, NAGICO’s Sales and Retention Manager said that the company recognises the important role the BVI Ports Authority plays in welcoming persons to our shores.

“It is equally important that the BVI Ports Authority is able to facilitate movement of all passengers and to ensure that this is done in a comfortable way which these wheelchairs will allow for. This is yet another example of NAGICO’s commitment to serving the Virgin Islands,” Roberts stated.

President of the newly formed Rotary Club of Central Tortola, Nelcia St Jean, said the members are eager to provide support and share in the development of the Territory.

“Once we learned that the BVI Ports Authority needed the assistance of securing the wheelchairs, we were able to get together with NAGICO Insurances to ensure that we could provide the wheelchairs. As a new and dynamic club, we understand the importance of building partnerships and we are very pleased with the support we received from NAGICO Insurances for this venture,” St Jean stated.
