National Championships this weekend!

The BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) will be hosting its National Championships this weekend, starting today, Friday 4.

Today’s event will commence at 5 pm with the Female High Jump, the Under-15 100m semifinals, and the Male/Female 100m Open semi-finals.

The day’s events will also include the Shot Put Open, the Under-15 400 metres, the 400m Male/Female Open, the 100m Under-15 final, and 100m Male/Female Open finals.

Saturday June 5


The Championships continue at 2 pm on Saturday with the Javelin Open, the Male High Jump, the Long Jump Open, the Male/Female 200m Open, the Under-15 200m, and the 100m hurdles events.

The 3,000m, 800m Male/Female Open, the Male/Female Discus Throw, the 200m Male/Female Open, and the 4x100m open relays are also events on Saturday’s line-up.

Local, Int’l athletes for Rey O’Neal Top-8 Juniors


In the meantime, the BVIAA is also scheduled to host the Rey O’Neal Top 8 Junior event on June 18 and 19.

“In addition to our local athletes, we expect top junior overseas athletes with the likes of Adaejah Hodge, Zara Brown, Rikkoi Brathwaite and many more [to participate],” the BVIAA has said.
