Only Vaccinated Visitors At Bougainvillea Clinic

Unvaccinated visitors to the Bougainvillea Clinic who are unable to prove they are COVID-19 free would not be permitted under a new policy of the medical facility.
Director of the Bougainvillea Clinic Dr. Heskith Vanterpool confirmed to BVI Platinum News on Thursday, November 18, that this is a safety measure for patients and staff at his facility.

“We do not allow people to visit patients unless they are vaccinated. So even family members cannot visit family members, without at least, showing a recent swab tissue saying they are negative,” he said.

“If we get an outbreak of COVID we are under pressure, we don’t want to have to shut down the facility,” he added.

He said the same goes for staff.

“Staff is 100 per cent vaccinated,” he said.

In the meantime, Dr. Vanterpool said there have received mixed reactions from members of the public on the new policy in the face of the ongoing pandemic.

“A few have reacted negatively and get upset but overall most people are quite understanding.”

As per the last count, the territory had 21 active, positive COVID-19 cases.
