Our Favourite Cult Bags of Autumn/Winter 2021

Our Favourite Cult Bags of Autumn/Winter 2021

From big Maisons to emerging brands, here are all the must-have Autumn/Winter 2021 bag models to invest in this year.
Christian Dior

The emblematic code of the maison, the cannage (the quilted detail) is reinvented again for the Dior FW 2021/22 Women's Ready-to-Wear collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Its architectural lines also embellish a series of accessories, such as the Lady D-Lite bag, the Dior Book Tote and the Dior Caro, also available in a leather version embellished with a macro-cannage motif. Boldly mix-and-match, this iconic motif appears across multiple materials and styles for a decidedly à la Dior look. An exclusive collaboration with Snapchat: users are invited to try the Dior Caro and Dior St Honoré bags, embellished with this unique symbol.

Stella McCartney

Launched in Autumn 2021 by Stella McCartney, the new Frayme bag is recognizable for its diamond-cut chain in gold and silver and for the medallion - extra large logo. Made on the outside in Vegan Alter Mat while the inner lining is made in alter suede with reduced use of solvents. Available in different sizes: medium and mini in shades of black, cinnamon, aqua green and bright red.

Borbonese

In the Strapcycle Shopping Bag, the logoed ribbon is also a central element in the bags: allover woven in the oversized shoppers or a detail that collects and defines the volume of soft models such as Cloudette, with soft and rounded shapes, made of nappa leather. In the new Borbonese vocabulary, nylon, always recycled, dialogues with the leather, offering different interpretations of the same models, and thus expanding uses and possibilities. The 110 family, the iconic stirrup bag, expands with hobo, mini hobo and bucket bag.

Gucci

During its 100 years, Gucci has established itself as one of the most influential fashion houses. Having become a status quo and a name part of pop culture, Gucci has often been celebrated in song lyrics. As a reminder, a mix of elements from the Gucci Aria collection is enriched with contemporary song lyrics courtesy of © Sony Music Publishing. Crafted with ivory jacquard flowers and crowns, this Bamboo bag features a print with the words of " The R" by E. Barrier and W. Griffin.

Medea

The bags of this emerging brand are reminiscent of the plasticized or cardboard envelopes where purchases made in stores are inserted. Instead, those of Medea, an Italian brand founded in 2018 by the Brescian twins Giulia and Camilla Venturini, are in leather and have become "cult" in a very short time. A name known for its popularity, it is a brand of two Italian sisters that has become an international case in three years, worn by Rihanna and Beyoncé. The first Medea model is called Prima and is still the best-selling along with the smaller and more accessible sizes - "it's a young brand and you usually buy the most iconic and recognizable thing", they explain - while the company name is a tribute to the 1969 film of the same name by Pierpaolo Pasolini. When we go from streetwear to luxury.

Danse Lente

The latest in a series inspired by the work of Charlotte Perriand is the reworked version of the beloved "Misty". Made in a pressed mould, "Misty Boost Leather" takes the form of a 90's shoulder bag with soft padding on the outside, smooth on the inside and a semi-circular stainless steel handle. Finished with discreet branding, "Misty Boost Leather" is a sculptural piece and in line with the trends that see hobo bags as protagonists of the season.

Prada

Time for novelty at Prada, with a geometric bag with architectural shapes. A study on the triangle inspires new geometries and unprecedented interpretations of the historic Prada code. The iconic shape inspires the design of this bag with a soft inverted construction, completed by a handle and a detachable shoulder strap to be worn in different ways depending on the occasion. The special touch to make even the most classic of looks less obvious.

Bottega Veneta

The Point Mirabelle by Bottega Veneta is a small curled raffia bag with a removable shoulder strap. Snap and magnetic closure made of lambskin and with gold trim. Made with a single compartment, the point mirabelle is also available in the bon bon colour, a bright pink.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Trifolio is a versatile bag designed by Ferragamo to accompany the daily style of women, today more than ever in constant motion. A bag divided into compartments, to better organize personal items and use space more efficiently. Women love bags with a compact structure, synonymous with luxury, and at the same time offering versatility and functionality. Work documents, a power bank to recharge the smartphone, the wallet, a change for the yoga class: all in a single bag that assigns a specific place to each element. Like having three bags in one.
