Paris Hilton Stars in Lanvin's Spring/Summer 2021 Campaign

Paris Hilton Stars in Lanvin's Spring/Summer 2021 Campaign

The heiress channeled '50s glam in the French fashion house's latest campaign.

Paris Hilton was the original influencer. The socialite's trademark phrase "that's hot," barely-there looks, and frequent tabloid appearances defined the early 2000s. Hilton's influence perseveres in Gen Z's fascination with noughties trends like Von Dutch trucker hats, velour tracksuits, and Ugg boots, but the heiress herself has moved onto more high fashion pursuits.

Lanvin creative director Bruno Sialelli chose Hilton to be the face of the French fashion house's Spring/Summer 2021 collection. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the campaign was inspired by 1950s New York socialites.

"I wanted to portray Paris Hilton in a way that she has never been seen before,” said Sialelli in an official statement. “As the originator of the influencer movement and the idea of ‘famous for being famous,’ I wanted to show the world how far she has come in the industry that she created. We stripped back the styling and allowed her natural beauty to be captured.”

As for Hilton, the partnership with Lanvin seems to have been a long time coming. "I've always been a fan of the house and personally admire the founder Jeanne Lanvin. She was able to build an empire from one small shop that still exists 130 years later," she said. "Her entrepreneurial spirit is so incredible-remind you of anyone else?"
