Paris Hilton Wears Oscar de la Renta to Marry Carter Reum in Bel Air

It’s official: Paris Hilton is married! The entrepreneur and reality TV star wed venture capitalist Carter Reum at the former Bel Air estate of the bride’s late grandfather Barron Hilton, the successor to hotelier Conrad Hilton.

“Carter and I have been friends for over 15 years,” Paris says of how she and her now husband first got together. “We stayed in each other’s lives over time, and we reconnected at a Thanksgiving get-together in 2019. From that night, I felt the spark, and the rest is history.”

The two became engaged when Carter surprised Paris with a joint birthday vacation at a private island back in February. “That day, we had a photoshoot planned by the beach, and instead he proposed,” Paris recalls. “It was so romantic! All of my closest family and friends surprised me, too, and flew out for the moment.” Carter proposed with a ring designed by Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of Louis Cartier. The emerald-cut diamond was inspired by classic Art Nouveau aesthetics and the vaulted glass ceiling of the Grand Palais.

In October, the couple held their bachelorette and bachelor parties together in Las Vegas. An Alice in Wonderland–themed bridal shower followed, hosted by Paris’s mother, Kathy Hilton; her sister, Nicky Hilton Rothschild; and her close friend Tina Chen Craig.

Like with most weddings, the planning process had its fair share of stressful situations. Paris and Carter enlisted top wedding planner Mindy Weiss and her team to handle everything from aesthetics to logistics. “On top of wedding planning, I launched my new media company, 11:11 Media, this year and am in the process of filming and producing a TV show with Peacock called Paris in Love,” the bride explains. “Thankfully, my mom and groom had a lot of opinions on the planning, so I let them take the reins.”

The name of Paris’s new venture and the date of her wedding were both informed by the bride’s favorite numerals on the clock: “11:11 has always been my favorite time of day,” Paris explains. “It’s my reminder to make a wish and be open to miracles. This date is special to Carter and I—it represents our love story, which both of us knew was meant to be.”

On November 11, 2021, the bride walked down the aisle at her grandfather’s former estate wearing a custom Oscar de la Renta gown while Kim Petras sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” “We spent months designing my dress to perfection with the amazing Oscar de la Renta designers, Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim,” Paris says. “I love how it turned out. I wanted something that was timeless, elegant, chic, and iconic, and I am so happy.” Her stylist, Sammy K, helped her select accessories, while the glam team was composed of Eduardo Ponce for hair and Steven Tabimba for makeup. “Our overall inspo was timeless beauty,” Eduardo says. “We wanted Paris to look fresh and chic. The dress is such a masterpiece—we didn’t want to overdo the glam. We kept it clean and simple.”

Tessa Hilton, Halle Reum, Brooke Brinson, Whitney Davis, and Farrah Aldjufrie all served as bridesmaids, wearing Alice + Olivia pink lace dresses, while the bride’s sister, Nicky, also in Alice + Olivia, acted as the maid of honor. Meanwhile, Carter wore an Ermenegildo Zegna made-to-measure navy silk single-breasted shawl-lapel tuxedo. Groomsmen were in Nigel Curtiss custom tuxedos with shoes from Scarosso, bow ties from Shawn Christopher, socks by Dead Soxy, and cuff links by Cartier.

“As a little girl, I always told myself that I would get married at my grandfather’s former estate,” the bride says. “I imagined having my fairy-tale wedding here, and it’s amazing that it actually came true. This estate brings back so many memories, and it means so much to be here surrounded by family and connected to all my loved ones on this day.”

After the couple said “I do” and were pronounced husband and wife, guests gathered for a seated dinner in the tent, where Demi Lovato gave a special performance of “I Will Always Love You.” The newlyweds’ first dance was to Bruno Mars’s “Just the Way You Are.”

“Throughout the years, I was always searching for my partner,” Paris says, reflecting the morning after the wedding. “Not only someone to share my dreams with but a man to build a future together. I was looking for my equal. Someone who wasn’t fascinated with ‘Paris Hilton’ but instead, someone who saw the real me and loved me for me. Someone who is loving and kind. Someone to be a father to my future children. I’m so proud of my love story with Carter, and even more excited that it’s just beginning.”
