Patlian Johnson appointed Community Liaison Officer @ RDA

The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) has announced the appointment of Ms Patlian Johnson as the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) for a period of one year effective August 17, 2020.
Ms Johnson’s responsibilities will include engaging stakeholders at the project planning, design, implementation and evaluation stages, ensuring that the community is engaged during all levels of the project cycle and also ensuring their concerns and suggestions are integrated where practical during the project’s delivery.

Ms Johnson brings a wealth of experience to the assignment as she was the Strategy and Policy Advisor with the Disaster Recovery Coordinating Committee involved with ensuring that feedback from the community was an integral part of the Recovery to Development Plan following hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The Community Liaison Officer will also oversee the implementation of the Grievance Redress System which will ensure the voices of individuals and communities are heard in the planning and delivery of projects.

Another key responsibility is the establishment of a Code of Conduct for Contractors which will provide oversight for the engagement of contractors in executing of recovery projects in the Virgin Islands.

Ms Johnson holds a Master of Science in Economics and Finance from the University of Bristol and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Accounting (1st Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.

The RDA is pleased to welcome Ms Johnson to the team as the agency works in close collaboration with the Government of the Virgin Islands to execute recovery projects.
