The Pediatric Wing at the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital on Tortola has benefitted from a bed linen donation. The donation was made at the medical facility recently. Health and Social Development Minister Carvin Malone expressed gratitude for the gesture.
He said: “We want to thank BVI High School class of 1982, Seven Seas Water and DSC Trucking Services for the contribution that you have made and we invite like-minded persons to continue to give towards the development of health care in the territory.”
“As we expand the health services throughout the Virgin Islands we have to do all we can as a community and Government to ensure that we have the proper facilities, equipment and tools that we need to deliver excellent healthcare,” the minister added.
More donations are needed
In the meantime, Malone reminded residents that the Iris O’Neal Medical Centre on Virgin Gorda is also seeking donations.
And according to a media release from the Ministry of Health, “persons interested in contributing towards the legacy and improvement of health care services on Virgin Gorda can make a donation directly to the First Bank, Friends of the BVIHSA checking account
