Perfecting our own destruction: From slavery to now

Perfecting our own destruction: From slavery to now

When Blind leads Blind, We all depend on Miracles:

I am no more special than you - We are all dispensable and disposable but even as we come and go, all that really matters is whether or not we make things better or worse… None of us live in a vacuum so we are exposed to Bad as well as Good and Wrong as well as Right… Whatever we do or know, are interactions with or lessons learnt from one another and, making right decisions are not automatic.

Indeed, we often fail, simply because we accept or tolerate wrongs for so long that they become the norms of Society and our Youth find it impossible to differentiate wrongs from rights… We are then quick to blame them without accepting accountability that we may be the ones who failed to acquaint them with reality… As a result, their World has become one of confusion and Crisis Management.

Nothing heals itself and none of us is likely to have all the answers but we still should try… The things I say may or may not make the difference but the most vital information is only useful to those with ears to hear and the will and ability to act… Sadly, we have seen it take 5 to 20 years to address urgent issues which only leaves us farther back than before – clearly demonstrating why our Youth so need the Truth.

I take this seriously and my messages are for one and all, and regardless of all the victimisation and excuses, facts will remain facts and the passage of time prove the difference between solutions and problems… Things are not always changed for the best – Not so long ago, Virgin Islanders were proud to be Nature’s Little Secret’ - we wanted the World to know us so, we scrambled to over-expose ourselves.

Today, our uniqueness paints us as the King of Trickledown Destinations where, every Dime or Dollar is as imported as King Crabs, Tourists and Covid-19... We lost our Identity and are now pretending to be more British than London and more American than Washington… No wonder CoI and Trumpism have breached our shores… We can all imagine the heated denials but we see the proof day after day.

Trumpism in the VI:

Let’s not forget that Trump was excused and tolerated until his bad practices became a US habit so that even with his Evils exposed daily, there are persons who would rather change the People than solve the Problem… I didn’t invent the Truth; I simply delivered the facts when I warned of it for years… Unfortunately, in the face of opposition not many persons believed then and maybe not even now.

Most of our Problems are not accidental… For years I have pointed out the persistent signs and symptoms as well as offering solutions… These have included the main Fault Lines of Education and Work which have been problematic for us… From the days of Slavery up until the present, these have hampered the Education of our Children and blocked our Parents from working to support their Children and Families.

Locally and internationally, these problems have been further aided and abetted by other areas such as Trade, Immigration, Health and Social Services but in every instance, the Root cause can be traced back to Class Segregation or White Supremacy… This remains the main engine or driver and Donald J. Trump may have been a Master Engineer but we still seem to have our own Junior Conductors here in the VI.

Let’s not forget how Trump hand-picked persons to suit his character and compulsion to misuse the Labour and Immigration processes because he would rather see persons starve to death as Crops rot and waste than allow immigrants to work at picking them… Let’s not forget how he stopped Muslims and Non-whites from entering America and even blocked Virgin Islanders from Irma Relief in Puerto Rico.

The Higher we put you the lower you take us:

Even Today, the after-effects of Trump’s Anti-Education Mission is handicapping the poor and blocking Blacks from learning their true History… Sadly, he appears to be winning because we are still foolish enough to prostitute ourselves as ‘Blacks for Trump’ and have our only Black Supreme Court Judge, Clarence Thomas, be the only SC Judge to knowingly protect Trump’s Evil while destroying himself.

Some blame Thomas’ white wife but History paints us as the real fools and haters of ourselves… Even here in the VI we condone foolishness - It is now a habit for well-meaning Business owners to attend so-called ‘Stake-holders’ meetings, and do so with the best of intentions but total lack of understanding that we are being played for fools; as time after time, nothing useful happens and Persons die waiting.

Fact is, nothing is all we should expect when apparent objectives of the Business Ministries – Labour and Immigration – still remains focused on obstructing and denying Businesses the ability to function… It matters not that this is Governmental Suicide for, by destroying the Income Generating Private Sector they essentially destroy Government Revenue Sources which can only result in their Financial Demise.

Of course, it is easy to say that we are all in this together but we know that’s not true… UK’s Prime Minister is in trouble because his Government said it but never meant it… Instead of leading by example, they played, ‘Do as I say but not as I do’… They mandated strict quarantine for everyone - the Queen respected this in her grief - while the Prime minister along with his Ministers and Civil Servants partied.

Does it remind you of us? We see restrictions on the Private Sector and the shutting down of our access to Government Services but while we are still compelled to pay them, they are not obliged to pay us… In fact, even as our incomes diminish, their Fees, Fines and Taxes increase… It is getting harder to suffer in silence and when Pain grew too much for the silence of Slaves, they lamented their sorrows in songs.

Governmental Suicide still kills us all:

Our People still have pride - No one wants to steal or beg… We simply need to work and as explained before, Work Permit Processing can be done in 3 Short-term Steps… Step 1: Illustrating the need for the Services, capability of the Applicant and the proposed contract… Step 2: Immigration suitability of the Applicant… and Step 3: Registration; (if necessary) which can be done the same time as Step 2.

Labour Department is fully aware that whatever I say is true because they have been selling ‘quick track 2-week Work Permits’ for an extra payment of $150… In addition, the Registration as mentioned in Step 3, has zero interest in what is best for the Peoples of the VI – This is merely another Scheme they concocted in order to safeguard the ambitions and personal interests of their own Members – Not us.

Last but not least, is a reminder that the continuing Governmental failure to allow Persons to work in a respectable and timely manner is a present and future danger to both the Social Security and National Health Insurance Schemes… Think about it – It is the Premiums from Workers or Payrolls that support these Schemes; not to mention the Payroll Taxes that support the Government’s Yearly Budgets.
