Persons using entry protocols to import exotic dancers

Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL) has revealed that even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, some persons are flouting the laws to import exotic dancers and others for employment in the territory.

The Minister made the announcement during a COVID-19 situation and response update on January 7, 2020.

“The Government has also become aware that a number of persons are utilising the entry procedures to import exotic dancers and other persons for employment into the Territory under the guise of being family members or friends,” Hon Malone said.

According to Hon Malone, the actions of those who engage in flagrant episodes of disregard for public safety and the protocols will only put the territory at risk.

Acts will not be tolerated - Hon Malone

He said any type of activity that risks lives and livelihoods during this time of the COVID-19 Pandemic, will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, Hon Malone reminded that breaches of the protocols will be taken very seriously due to the cost of lockdowns and the hard work and efforts of the territory to contain the virus thus far.

“Again, as Health Minister, I am reminding persons that we all must adhere to all social distancing and public health measures and comply with all lawful instructions of the officers who have been designated to enforce and uphold them,” he said.
